The School of Open and Distance Learning, Department of Open Learning will conduct online exams for Postgraduate and Undergraduate students pursuing Project Planning and Management from 8th June 2020 until 27th June 2020. Students will access The Online Open Book Examinations on the UON e-class portal. The examiners have set high order questions requiring critical thinking skills to test knowledge levels and competence.

To prepare students for the exams; ODEL Campus organized a series of virtual trainings to equip the students with technical skills to understand the procedure of Online Examinations. ODEL campus is also systematically mounting mock examinations to provide hands-on experience and also support mechanisms have been developed to offer technical assistance to students during the examination process. These mechanisms are decentralized to all Learning Centers for real-time responses.

Currently; Postgraduate and Undergraduate students in Project Planning and Management Semester 3 and 8 respectively are undertaking examinations. On day 1, a total of 59 postgraduate students sat for examinations from 10am to 5pm (7 Hours) while 49 undergraduate students did examinations from 10.00am to 3.00pm (5 Hours). On day 2 60 Masters and 8 undergraduate students took examinations. The longer duration was given to cater for typing speed and any systemic challenges such as low internet or power failure.

To address the challenge on appropriate devices, students were advised to use Smartphones and Laptops if possible. Guidelines and Instructions were given to students to augment training efforts and ensure that students are clear on what to do. Provisions were also made for technical support and designated members of staff are on standby throughout the examination period. Multiple avenues of communication are being utilized for efficiency, these include voice calls, emails, SMS and WhatsApp.

ODEL Campus will also run similar exams for Diploma, Undergraduate students (1strd and 2nd years-semester 1), Post Graduate Diploma and PHD students.
