Academic background

Prof. Dorothy Ndunge Kyalo is a Professor in the Department of Open Learning and the Dean School of Open and Distance Learning in Open, Distance and electronic Learning (ODeL) Campus, University of Nairobi. Dorothy was Associate dean in the School of Continuing and Distance Education and she also was the first Resident Lecturer of Garissa Extra Mural Center in North Eastern Kenya Region. She is involved in development, management, monitoring and evaluation of academic programmes in the School of Open  and Distance Learning that include: Educational studies; Pedagogy and Andragogy; Peace Education Project Monitoring and evaluation; Project planning, Design and Implementation; Project Financing; Project Management Information Systems;, Distance Education and e-Learning Programmes. She is a PhD trained supervisor, who has wide experience in research, monitoring and evaluation and supervision of post graduate projects and thesis in the fields of education, project management, monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects. As a faculty member of PhD examining board in the school of Open and Distance Learning, Dorothy has contributed immensely as an active participant to the quality teaching and completion rate of the PhD candidates in the University of Nairobi.
