Millicent Wanjiru Wambugu holds both a Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) of Egerton University and Masters of Arts (Project Planning and Management) of the University of Nairobi. She attended Karundu Primary school (1983-1990), Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls High School and Kaheti High school for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) (1991-1996), Egerton University (1998-2004) and University of Nairobi (2017-2020).
She is currently working at the ACK Diocese of Mt Kenya West as the Development Coordinator since January 2018 with responsibilities of coordinating development projects within Mt Kenya region.
She has previously worked as a community development Facilitator with the ACK Diocese of Mt Kenya West (2010-2017) with the responsibilities of implementing development projects. She has also worked as a Program Officer with Society for Women and AIDS Kenya (2009-2010) under the leadership of the Late Prof Elizabeth Ngugi with responsibilities of giving technical advice and overseeing implementation of APHIA 11 funded projects (USAID) in the former Western Province of Kenya. Further led in the training of the health workers from North Rift on Malaria Case Management, supported by World Health Organisation (WHO) through the Division of Malaria Case Management.
She had earlier worked as a Project Officer with Society for Women and AIDS Kenya (2007-2008) in the former Central Province implementing OX –Farm NOVID funded HIV/AIDS project.
She was awarded an Australian Leadership Award in November 2017 (MELBOURNE UNIV) for her involvement in projects promoting maternal Child Health indicators in pastoralists’ communities in Laikipia North and Samburu Counties.
She is a member of the National Council of Persons living with Disabilities.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the determinants of performance of Faith Based Organizations’ projects in slums and squatter settlement in Informal settlements in Nyeri County. This study aimed at achieving the following objectives; to determine how institutional arrangements, monitoring and evaluation, availability of resources and community participation influence the performance of Faith Based Organizations’ projects in slums and squatter settlement in Informal settlements in Nyeri County.
The study revealed that the performance of faith based organization projects in the Nyeri County, Kenya was generally good. It was also found out that the institutional arrangements variables contributed significantly to the performance of faith based organization projects. On Monitoring and evaluation, the variable yielded a moderate positive influence on performance of faith based organization projects. Resource allocation yielded a strong positive influence on performance of faith based organization projects. Finally, on Community Participation, the variable yielded a moderate level of positive influence on performance of faith based organization projects. Hence the four independent variables exhibited significant levels of influence on the dependent variable. From the study findings, the following recommendations were; there was need for the implementers of projects to ensure that the project managers are motivated, that policy makers and implementers of projects need consider the factor of availing resources to ensure completion of project, policy makers and implementers of projects work towards ensuring that the project management implementation teams are let to gain experience and that the community as stakeholders should be actively involved in the implementation of the faith based organization projects.
