The University of Nairobi, Open, Distance and e-Learning Campus (ODeL Campus) will host the 1st  International conference on Open, Distance and E-Learning scheduled for October 22nd– 24th 2019 in Nairobi Kenya.

Theme: Enabling access to quality education and training through robust, integrated, innovative and scalable technology for realizing sustainable development.

Open distance and eLearning is a mode of delivery that offers opportunity for flexible, convenient and independent learning to learners. It enhances the quality of teaching and learning for both staff and students in tandem with best practices; improves access to and flexibility of learning opportunities for students; and increases enrolment by targeting new groups of potential students who are outside the normal catchment of the University such as working adults and cross border students. In a competitive higher education market, ODeL is desirable in meeting the expectations of such students and other stakeholders.

The objectives of the Conference on Open, Distance and e-Learning are

  1. To give the postgraduate students within ODeL and other faculties of Universities Opportunity to showcase their research findings
  2. The conference will provide an opportunity through which new research findings and products will be released in the global market
  3. To provide an opportunity through which ODeL staff and students will learn from world renown experts and researchers on issues related to ODeL mode of delivery
  4. To provide a forum for stakeholder both international and local to deliberate and share information and ideas on ODeL mode of delivery
  5. To provide a platform through which Universities, key ODeL Service providers and individual participants will increase their visibility
  6. To provide opportunity for networking and collaboration
