Gladwel W. Mwangi holds a bachelor of Arts(Economics & Sociology)degree from Kenyatta University.

She is very passionate about community development in general, especially ensuring that the rights of the vulnerable groups are upheld . She currently works in Nyeri County with the Anglican church of Kenya, in a project aimed at promoting child protection as well as the fight against GBV.

The study sought to unravel the Influence of community crime prevention interventions in security sustainability, a case study of Chaka Location, Kieni East sub-county in Nyeri County. The study was guided by objectives which assessed how the Village level security initiative, police involvement, community engagement, chiefs and assistant chiefs’ involvement in crime prevention influence security sustainability in Chaka. The study utilized descriptive survey, and data was collected following the conceptual. The data collected were coded and subjected to descriptive statistics then ran through the to find the significance. The findings showed that village-level security (Nyumba Kumi) had the highest impact on security sustainability enhancement, with 81.82% of the respondents indicating it was highly effective. The operations of the chiefs and assistant chiefs in preventing crime had an average efficacy of 84.67%, though the community's participation influenced the results. The community role in preventing crime was found to have an average of 81.6% of respondents, indicating that community-based interventions were highly significant. The police officers indicated that working with the community effectively reduced crime, with patrols having an efficacy of 80%. The interventions were found to influence security sustainability in the Chaka location significantly. Besides, Village level security initiative, chiefs, community members, and police officers were interested in ensuring every member of the community's safety. The research concluded that for Village level security to be fully effective in Chaka location, the community and the authorities should be associated profoundly.
