As a result driven and compassionate Project management professional keen on pursuing positions that will see me make a difference in growing communities, I am passionate in growing in my career in order to achieve this objective. My course work and work history has seen me acquire skills in; project management, monitoring and evaluation, administration research and analytical skills. Currently, working as an Invigilation officer at British Council Kenya.

David Chandago holds Bachelor Degree of Arts in Project Planning and Management (FIRST CLASS HONOURS) from The University of Nairobi, French language in various cadres A2, Avancee & B2 from ALLIANCE FRANCAISE DE MOMBASA. In 2019, He enrolled for a Master degree in Project Planning and Management at The University of Nairobi and successfully completed his program in 2020.

Determinants of Community Participation in Implementation of Development Project in Kenya.A case of Kwale County

One way of improving the wellbeing of the local is to have sustainable development projects established in the area. Poverty, Illiteracy and inadequate Infrastructure remains to be a great   challenge experienced in the area. Despite   various actors channeling their resources and efforts in addressing such pertinent issues   through establishment of those development projects, local community participation is seen to be a key impediment   that derails the implementation of these projects thus affecting   its intended objectives/goals. In response to this, the purpose of this study was to examine the determinants of community participation in implementation of development projects in Kwale County. The study focused on the following determinants leadership, Culture, Commitment and education. The study was guided by the following objectives: To establish the extent to which  leadership   determines  the community participation in implementation of development  projects; To investigate the extent to which culture determines community participation in implementation of development projects; To assess how commitment  determines community participation in implementation of development projects; To determine how the level of literacy determines community participation in implementation of development projects. The study would be beneficial to donors, N.G.O, Government, future researchers and community. The study was anchored on leadership and participatory theories. Descriptive design and survey was adopted   in finding the answers to the research questions, the research focused on the   infrastructure projects.  The target population was   1194 drawn from Kasemeni in Kinango sub-county. This study   applied simple random technique with the sample size of 300 community households. The researcher administered the questionnaires to the 300 respondents. The questionnaire was subjected to validity and reliability test before conducting the piloting test, then, the collected data was analyzed quantitatively using descriptive analysis, regression analysis and Pearson moment correlation. The findings revealed there was positive correlation between leadership. Culture, community support and level  of literacy and community participation in implementation of development projects in Kwale County. The study concluded that leadership, culture, community support and level of literacy had influence on community participation in implementation of development projects. It recommended the following; establishment of relationship between project implementers with the local leadership, understanding of community culture and fostering a strong relationship between leaders and provision of training programs thus, this can improve community to participate in projects
