Implementation of the Project is very critical because this is the only way citizen enjoy services provided by those PROJECTS and that is why i decided to do a study on the above topic. The study sought to assess how planning, stakeholder participation, leadership and financial capacity influenced performance of afforestation Project in Meru County. I used public participation theory, stakeholder theory and resource based view theory, the S employed descriptive survey design, the targeted population was from County representative, Kenya forest service officials and stakeholder in Meru County and the sample size was 292 respondents who were selected using stratified sampling method. I used questionnaires in my research to collect data where the obtained information was grouped, edited and later coded using spss 25.0 version. I analyzed my data using descriptive and inferential statistics and presented in form of tables. In my findings i found that tracking activities for the end County projects, facilatating or overseeing some activities of the County Project mobilizing project beneficiaries for some activities and deciding the timelines and targeted beneficiaries influence performance of afforestation Project in Meru County to a great extent

The study also found that change control procedures and use of the project baseline influence performance of afforestation project in Meru County to a moderate extent

I also found that the rate of project supervision by managers of allocation of resource influence performance of afforestation project in Meru County to a moderate extent

The source of funds was also found to influence performance of afforestation project in Meru County to a low extent

The study concluded that financial capacity had the greatest influence on performance of afforestation project in Meru County followed by stakeholder participation then leadership while schedule management had the least influence.
